Well today was finally the day. Yes I was the lucky winner! I got to drive out to the house and experience the septic tank being located, dug up and opened, YES OPENED. Okay when he opened the first lid it smelled and I took 1 step backwards. Well after the 2nd lid was opened boy was it time for a motrin. The headache from the smell. YUCK is all I can say. The guy actually was very nice and I learned his whole family history in 2 hours. I didn't stick around to watch him empty it out. Though it was very tempting! Alas I had to get back to work. My trip back included a CHP robbining to stop traffic to get 3 cars to the right hand side. I still made it back to work with 20 minutes to spare. I also met the pool guy. 2 birds with one drive out there. Thats the kind of business I like. So by next Thursday the pool should be looking a whole lot better. Supposidly they power washed the pool before they filled it. HA HA HA all the dirt was still on the bottom of the pool. The pool guy will vacuum and pump out all the yuck. Thank heaven for someone who will actually do their job. Its amazing how much these contractors charge for not doing anything.

No Packing on my Birthday!!!!! June 10th
No boxes to fill and tape up! I got to come home and have a wonderful dinner prepared of steak, baked potato, and corn. All my favorites might I add. Lloyd even made a couple of stops to complete the day. I was given my card in the morning and it was great. We had agreed no presents since we are waiting for escrow to close. But being the sweetheart that he is. He stopped at Marie Calendars and got a apple pie and then onto the grocery store for vanilla bean ice cream to top it off. Then some beautiful pink roses. i love these that are tipped with a deeper shade of pink. I might have to get this style for my rose garden for the front of the house.

14 More Boxes and OUT of Tape
That makes a grand total so far of 73 boxes and we still have the kitchen to go. We did just a few boxes in the kitchen tonight. OK my house is looking like a overstuffed factory with all these boxes. We bought 3 rolls of packing tape this weekend at Home Depot so I am on my way back there tomorrow for 3 more. I think that will take care of the kitchen and stuff in the garage. I hope so at least. Well tomorrow I don't have anything planned so box hunting I will go again. I hit payload tonight after work at one of the schools I drop off at. They have a small canister just for boxes and paper trash. So yes I was dumpster diving but at least it was clean!(well pretty much, I did find some cooked rice on one of the boxes). Well 1 day down at underwriting, I'm not anxious or anything! I can't wait to relax in a jacuzzi anytime I want. I'll keep you posted on the box count.LOL

7 more boxes packed and We are OUT of boxes
I thought we had enough boxes to last. I was wrong. I have a fieldtrip tomorrow so I cant go hunting for them. Maybe after work for a bit. I will be in LA all day and you know if there is a empty box a bum is in it, LOL Well as soon as I get some more we can finish up packing. Well all the paperwork is done and the loan package is going back to underwriting to dot the i's and cross the t's. Then to escrow to sign we go. I hope by end of the week or beginning of next week we will be done.

52 is the lucky number
Today we packed 52 boxes! Boy were we busy today. And about 8 loads of laundry mixed in. It sure has been a busy long day. I started off the day with motrin and had some more with dinner. I'm sure my arm will hurt for the next few days. Although I was very good and had Lloyd lift and move all the boxes, I still lifted alot of times the light stuff that filled all those boxes. Well we are pretty much out of boxes now. I gathered all these boxes last week. I will be on the hunt again this week for boxes. I refuse to pay for them when I can find them in peoples trash stacks. Most of the boxes were even cut down and stacked. I even found a bunch at a house where they just moved in. I left a note on the door because the boxes were still in the driveway. The lady called me that night and I picked up the boxes. They were perfect boxes for all my cds and movies. I have got pretty lucky with finding them! Well we will see what this week brings!

Lloyds trip to Moreno
Well we had AAA coming out today for a home inspection so we can get homeowners insurance. They are 1 of the few companies that have to inspect first. So Lloyd worked 1/2 day and then met the agent at 11am. We were also going to have the septic dug up and certified good but the bank wants everything to go through escrow even though we have to pay for it. So we cancelled the guy and only did one of the 2 things we set out to do. I would of rather killed 2 birds with 1 trip but i guess 1 will have to do. Lloyd also sprayed for spiders! Since the house has been vacant for awhile some BIG black widows thought they could take up residency. We killed at least 6 of them 2 weeks ago, so we sent him with bug spray in hand to finish the job. The pool was also low in water so with the help of the next door neighbor they filled the pool. The pool timer is missing some part so it has been running continuously. The next door neighbor is going to keep a eye on the water level and run the pump for us. This way the pump doesn't burn up. I have a pool guy going out today or tomorrow to give us a bid and hopefully if that nice agent will let us, we will start service next week so it nice and clean by the time we move and full of nice chemicals. On the to do list is fixing some dry rot in the eaves and the septic tank. Hopefully that's it and all will be good with both of those. This agent is doing everything in her power to get us to cancel escrow. Today she asked for proof we had enough for repairs and a letter from lender accepting repairs be added to escrow. The branch manager thankfully wrote a letter advising we had enough to cover closing costs and repairs and that repairs would be allowed. Can't wait to see what her next trick will be. I am guessing if she gets it to fall out of escrow her person will jump right in and probably get a better deal since it fell out and they will want it to close quickly. I wish she would give us a deal! Well hopefully by Friday we will have underwriting done and we can finalize everything.
